Announcement for changes on our class (MDJ) Making Disciples of Jesus
No one could have anticipated the last couple of weeks and the impact Covid-19 has had on us as a country and a church. In light of these recent developments we have decided NOT to hold the Making Disciples of Jesus (MDJ) class at the Jhb church building the weekend of the 1-2 May 2020, but instead go virtual.
This has presented an opportunity to start virtual learning, using different platforms such as Vimeo, YouTube and Zoom. Our teachers Raj & Neil have committed to pre-recording the sessions that would have been taught live and making these videos available to you one week before class on April 23, 2020 midnight. Links will be e-mailed to registered students to access the video’s, accompanied by a schedule for Zoom sessions for you to sign up for at no cost.
Please note: Full students need to watch the videos and complete all reading requirements BEFORE the sessions, and you will be graded on your virtual attendance. These will not be formal classes but instead Q&A sessions.
Syllabus requirements and deadlines for this course remain the same.
We have also decided to discount this class to the following:
• Full Students – R500.00
• Audit students – R250.00
We look forward to hosting you to this amazing online learning

What is Happening
2018 has been a great year for the Jo’burg MTA.
We had the privilege of holding class for NT & OT Survey.

New Testament Survey
On the 27th & 28th of April, we had the opportunity to learn from Gilbert Kimeng who currently resides in Lagos, Nigeria. Gilbert has been a disciple of Jesus since the early to mid 90’s, served in the ministry full-time and was recently appointed a teacher within our family of churches here on the continent. He is also currently pursuing his master’s degree in bible & theology from the Rocky Mountain School of Theology. Class consisted of 2 full days of teaching where we surveyed the New Testament and dug deeper on certain books. A great time of learning was had by all.

Old Testament Survey
On the 9th & 10th of August we had the pleasure to learn from Michael Burns & Jason Alexander who currently serve on the U.S Mid-West teaching service team. Jason is one of the leading Hebrew scholars in our family of churches. Two Full days of classes were held at the Jo’burg COC church property where learners had the opportunity to walk through Gods meta narrative of covenantal love, for his chosen people Israel. This was a tremendous time of learning as we delved deeper into the Old Testament. It was also a momentous occasion for Solomon Kganyago, who received his certificate of completion for the course. Deserving students who pass all 12 classes with an 80% average receive a certificate.

Graduation Photo Our 3.0 Discussions
At a recent gathering of staff and Southern African church leaders, are a number of students who graduated from the Ministry Training Academy in Johannesburg. This landmark moment was the culmination of 6 years of hard work for these students having completed all 12 classes of the CORE MTA curriculum.
Over the same weekend we held class for a brand new group of students (80 in all) who attended. We are excited with what God is doing here in Southern Africa with the Academy, please be praying for us as we seek to advance the gospel more effectively here in Southern Africa.
